Terms and Conditions

1. THE AGREEMENT

1.1 These Terms: This document outlines the terms and conditions (the "Agreement") between you (the "Customer") and WeBuyVintage (the "Service Provider", "us", "we").

1.2 Acceptance: By booking an appointment, visiting a roadshow, or selling an Item to us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1.3 Who We Are: WeBuyVintage is a trading name of The Antiques Collective Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14385719, with a registered office at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU. 1.4

Who You Are: You are a private individual acting as a Customer. You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are based in the UK.

2. DEFINITIONS

In this Agreement, the following definitions apply:

  • "Appraisal" / "Valuation": The activity undertaken by WeBuyVintage to assess the goods you present to us. We independently estimate the likely market value of your item based on its condition and market appeal.

  • "Offer": The monetary amount we are willing to pay for your Items immediately following an Appraisal.

  • "Item(s)" / "Goods": Any antique, collectable, jewellery, or vintage object you present to us for sale.

  • "Contract": The legally binding agreement formed when you accept our Offer, stipulating that we have purchased your Items for the agreed price.

  • "Home Visit": A pre-booked appointment where a WeBuyVintage representative visits your private residence to appraise Items.

  • "Roadshow": A public event hosted by WeBuyVintage at a temporary location (e.g., village hall, hotel) where Customers can bring Items for Appraisal.

3. OWNERSHIP AND LEGALITY

3.1 Title: By presenting Items for sale, you warrant that you are the legal owner of the Items or have the express permission of the legal owner to sell them.

3.2 Stolen Goods: We have a zero-tolerance policy for stolen goods. If we suspect an Item is stolen, we will decline the purchase and may notify the Police. If an Item you sold to us is later discovered to be stolen, you agree to refund the full purchase price immediately and liable for any associated legal or administrative costs.

3.3 Restricted Items: You must not present items that are illegal to own or sell in the UK, including offensive weapons, firearms, hazardous chemicals, or ivory.

4. METHODS OF SELLING

A. Roadshows

4.1 Events: We host Roadshows in various communities. These events are free to attend and typically operate on a walk-in basis.

4.2 Process: You will be introduced to an appraiser who will assess your Items. We reserve the right to refuse to appraise any Item for any reason (e.g., if the item is outside our expertise or the venue is too busy).

4.3 Payment: If you accept an Offer at a Roadshow, payment is typically raised immediately via bank transfer. Cash payments may be available at our sole discretion.

B. In-Store Appointments

4.1 Location: You may visit our headquarters at 525 York Road, Leeds, LS9 6TA.

4.2 Appointments: While walk-ins are welcome between advertised opening hours (Mon-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 12pm-4pm), we strongly recommend calling or messaging via WhatsApp in advance to ensure an appraiser is available.

4.3 Process: We aim to complete in-store appraisals within 30 minutes.

C. Home Visits

4.1 Booking: Home Visits are available by appointment for collections or high-value items. We reserve the right to decline a Home Visit request based on location or the description of goods.

4.2 Safety & Access: You must provide a safe environment for our staff. Our valuers reserve the right to terminate a visit immediately and leave the premises if they feel unsafe, threatened, or if the environment is hazardous.

4.3 Handling Goods: Our staff are valuers, not removal experts. They will not move heavy furniture or retrieve items from lofts/attics. You must ensure all Items are easily accessible and laid out for inspection before the valuer arrives.

4.4 No Obligation: A Home Visit places you under no obligation to sell. Likewise, we are under no obligation to make an Offer on any items we inspect.

5. APPRAISALS AND OFFERS

5.1 The Offer: All Offers are made on a "no-obligation" basis. The Offer is a spot-price based on the market value on that specific day.

5.2 Acceptance: If you accept our Offer, a binding Contract is formed immediately.

5.3 Rejection:You are free to Reject our Offer. If you decline, you retain ownership of your Items, and no transaction takes place.

6. PAYMENTS

6.1 Methods: Payments are made via Bank Transfer (Faster Payments) or cash.

6.2 Timing: We aim to initiate bank transfers immediately upon your acceptance of the Offer. While funds typically arrive instantly, we are not responsible for delays caused by the banking system.

6.3 Errors: If you receive an incorrect payment (e.g., an overpayment), you must notify us immediately and agree to return the difference.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS

7.1 Finality of Sale: Due to the fast-paced nature of our business, once you have accepted an Offer and payment has been instructed, the transaction is final. There is no "cooling-off" period for you to change your mind once the contract is concluded face-to-face and title has passed to us.

7.2 Goods Disposal: Once purchased, Items are immediately sorted, grouped, or resold. It is often impossible to retrieve an Item once it has entered our stock system.

8. LIABILITY

8.1 During Appraisal: We take every care when handling your items. However, in the unlikely event that an Item is damaged by our staff during the Appraisal process (before you have sold it to us), our liability shall be limited to the fair market value of the Item as assessed by an independent specialist.

8.2 Exclusions: We are not responsible for any indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of sentimental value, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity.

8.3 Customer Liability: You remain liable for any loss or damage to your Items up until the moment you accept our Offer.

9. GENERAL TERMS

9.1 Force Majeure: We will not be liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to events outside our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather preventing a Home Visit, pandemics, or strikes).

9.2 Variations: We may revise this Agreement at any time. You will be subject to the terms in force at the time of your interaction with us.

9.3 Governing Law: This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
