Home visits are ideal if you have a lot to sell, higher value items, difficulty getting out to a roadshow, or you’re dealing with a full house clearance or probate.

What do I need to do before requesting a home visit?

When you enquire, you’ll need to give us some information about the items you’d like us to look at so we can make sure a home visit is the right fit and forward your request to the right buyer.

What kinds of items can you look at during a home visit?

How long does a home visit appointment usually take?

Appointments are usually around 40 minutes, although this can vary depending on how many items you have for us to assess.

Yes. Home visits are completely free, and there is zero obligation to sell.

Will I be dealing with a trusted expert?

Yes, our home visits are carried out by expert buyers who are DBS checked, so you can feel comfortable knowing who is visiting your home.

Do I have to know exactly what everything is before booking?

No, but we do need a clear idea of what you have before the visit. You don’t need to identify every item perfectly, but please give us as much information as you can when you make your enquiry.

What happens during the visit?

Your buyer will look through the items discussed when booking, talk you through what they are and their value, and make an offer on anything they would like to buy.

Is there any pressure to sell?

No. There is zero obligation, and if you decide not to sell, that is completely fine.

What happens when I accept your offer?

We will collect your details so we can email and SMS you a digital VAT-compliant receipt, and you will be paid immediately by bank transfer. We will then take the items away with us that day.

Do I need to prepare anything before you arrive?

It helps if the items you told us about are easy to access when we arrive. If you have any spare boxes you no longer want, that is also very helpful, as we can use them to pack items into.

How soon can you visit?

We aim to get in touch promptly after you submit a request, but how soon we can arrange the visit depends on buyer availability in your area.

Do you cover the whole UK?

Our aim is to cover as much of the UK as possible, but there are still some areas where we do not yet have full coverage. We are gradually expanding, and we will let you know whether we can currently service your area.

Do you offer home visits outside the UK?

No. Home visits are currently available in the UK only.

What if I’m not suitable for a home visit?

If a home visit is not the best option, we’ll let you know and suggest the best next step. That may be visiting one of our local roadshows, where you can still bring your items along for a free, no-obligation offer

Am I better putting my items into auction?

Accepted Answer

All of our experts are clued up with UK auctions and are very suitably placed to advise you if we are not the right place to sell your item.

We choose to be very transparent with our pricing which reflects the fact that we are providing a fair same-day solution, immediate payment, and absorbing all of the risk on the future sale of that item. 
When auctioning items you are often waiting weeks for your items to sell (with no guarantee that they will), weeks again for payment to clear, and then the buyer and seller will pay fees to the auction house for facilitating the sale.

Even with this in mind - it is not unusual for our offers to exceed the estimates given by auction houses when customers come to us.

However, there are also instances where advising you to auction your item is the right and fair thing to do - our experts never shy away from recommending other selling services. We have very good relationships with auction houses across the UK and are very happy to send business their way.
