Every town we visit should be better off for it.

We hold 250+ roadshows a month in village halls, community centres and local venues across the UK. Local Matters is our promise to the venues that host us, the businesses we collaborate with, and the people who call the areas we visit home. Here's what we promise to do, in every local area, every time.

Our commitments to every community

Local Matters isn’t about one-off donations. It’s about making a lasting difference in the local areas that welcome us - by paying fairly, supporting local businesses and sharing our knowledge.

Community venue price promise

Most village halls, community centres and church halls are run by volunteers, and the cost of keeping them open continues to rise. We believe the places that host our roadshows should be paid fairly.

That’s why we pay every venue at least £200 for each roadshow it hosts - even if its usual rate is lower, and whether we use the space for a full day or just a few hours.

If a venue normally charges more than £200, we pay its full fee. If it charges less, we increase the payment to £200.

There is no form to complete and no scheme to join. The £200 minimum will be applied automatically to all existing and future bookings.

Venue enquiries

Interested in hosting one of our roadshows at your venue? Events are typically held Monday to Friday (10am to 3pm), with access to the venue required from 9am to 5pm. Venues should be fully accessible, with car parking and kitchen access. If your venue meets these requirements, our bookings team would be pleased to hear from you.

Local business referrals: Recommend a roadshow

The best recommendations in any local area often come from a familiar face - your local barista, hairdresser, or the person behind the bar at your local pub.

That’s why we’re introducing a new way for local businesses to benefit from helping customers find our roadshows. For every successful referral, we’ll pay the business £30, and the customer an extra £20 - and a simple referral code makes it easy to take part.

Our brand advocates will visit small businesses in the local areas surrounding our roadshows, helping them sign up and providing posters for upcoming events.

Open to independent local businesses:

How our referral program works:

  • Sign-up takes just a couple of minutes, and each participating business will receive cards with a unique referral code.

  • Local businesses can refer customers to nearby roadshows or recommend one of our home visits.

  • Customers who present the card receive an extra £20 when they accept an offer of £100 or more for their items.

  • For every successful referral, £30 is paid directly to the participating business, with all referrals tracked online.

  • Open to bakeries, cafés, hairdressers, pubs, post offices, newsagents, florists, and other independent local businesses. It costs nothing to take part – it’s simply our way of giving back to the local community.

The Local Cuppa

Tea, coffee and cake have been part of every WeBuyVintage roadshow since the first one - customers mention the lemon drizzle in their reviews almost as often as the valuers.

Wherever possible, we’d like every order to come from a bakery, café or farm shop in the town we’re visiting, rather than a supermarket. We’re introducing this gradually, with the goal of buying locally for every roadshow from January 2027. It’s a small order, but multiplied across 250+ roadshows a month, it means the first purchase of the day is made locally more often.

Local Matters Fund

The venues that host our roadshows understand their communities and where support is needed most. That’s why each time we visit, every host venue can nominate one local cause - whether it’s a food bank, youth club, church, defibrillator fund, or the venue itself.

Every quarter, five nominated causes will each receive a £500 award, with £2,500 awarded in total. Recipients will be selected through an open draw.

WeBuyVintage CEO & Founder

A message from our founder.

"We're a business built on traditional values. Paying the venue properly and buying the cake from the local bakery is what that used to mean and still should.

WeBuyVintage only works because a town lets us in: a hall opens its doors, the café tells a customer we're coming, and someone walks in with their mother's ring and trusts us to be straight with them. We visit the same places every few months, so we can't behave like a company that's passing through. Local Matters is what we think being a good neighbour looks like when you're a business."

We publish what we do, every quarter

Our business is built on trust, and trust is something we have to demonstrate, not simply claim. That's why we'll report openly on what we deliver.

All figures are correct as of August 2026.

Local Matters didn't start from nothing

Local Matters puts a name to habits that were already part of how we work.

Established reputation

We return to local towns and villages every 3-4 months, so we've had time to build real, trusted relationships with venues and communities.

Free home visits

Wherever possible, we offer free home visits for those who can’t get to the venue, whether that’s because of mobility, privacy, or simply having too much to carry

Free to attend, whether you sell or not

Our roadshows are free, and getting a competitive offer from us costs nothing, even if you choose not to sell.

Local press

We advertise each visit in local newspapers and magazines, as well as online, supporting the publications that keep communities informed and connected.

Respecting every venue

We leave every venue as we found it. Tidy, secure, and we let the venue know we’ve finished for the day.

Same-day payment

Our experts examine customers’ items face-to-face and make a no-obligation offer. Customers who accept are paid instantly by bank transfer.

Local valuers

Our valuers live and work in the regions they serve, bringing local knowledge to every roadshow.
