What are my selling options?

With over 250 roadshow events taking place in communities around the UK every month, we regularly return to areas. Search your postcode here to find your nearest event.If a roadshow isn't convenient, our free home visit service could be a better fit. One of our senior DBS-checked buyers will come directly to you, assess your items in the comfort of your own home. Is it really free?

Yes, whether you are attending a roadshow, organising a home visit or selling to us in-store - getting a competitive offer from us is completely free, even if you choose not to sell your items.

How do you decide what my items are worth and what to offer me?

Accepted Answer

We assess each item in front of you, face-to-face, and make you a realistic and fair offer. Your offer is based on a number of moving factors such as material, condition, age, craftsmanship and current market demand.All of these considerations, including how your offer amount has been reached, will be explained to you in plain English by our experts.

How and when do I get paid?

After accepting an offer, we’ll collect your contact information so we can send you a digital VAT complaint receipt by email and SMS as your proof of sale. You’ll then be paid the same day via bank transfer.In order to be legally compliant and prevent issues with payment (especially via bank transfer) we must collect your contact information at point of sale.

What happens if I am not happy with my offer?

That's completely fine. There is no pressure and no follow-up. The decision on whether or not to sell belongs to you. Our experts will help you pack your items away and you can keep hold of them.There is never any penalty, fee or pressure applied for not choosing to sell.

What do I need to have ready or bring with me?

Accepted Answer

Have ready all of the items you are looking to sell that day - there is no limit on how much you can bring or how much time you will be afforded (e.g. it is not unusual to see full jewellery boxes or suitcases of unwanted items).We recommend bringing your debit card (or a copy of your sort code and account number) in case this is needed for a bank transfer, along with 1 form of photo ID. If you're having a home visit, simply have these to hand ready for when your buyer arrives.

What if I’m not sure whether you will accept my items?

You can visit our 'Items We Buy' page. If still in doubt, bring it with you, or contact us to check your items first.If it’s not something we are able to purchase, we’ll tell you honestly.There’s no cost and no downside to checking.

Can I sell some items and keep others?

Absolutely. There's no obligation to sell everything you bring. You're completely free to accept our offer on some items and decline on others - the choice is always yours.

Am I better putting my items into an auction?

All of our experts are clued up with UK auctions and are very suitably placed to advise you if we are not the right place to sell your item.We choose to be very transparent with our pricing which reflects the fact that we are providing a fair same-day solution, immediate payment, and absorbing all of the risk on the future sale of that item.When auctioning items, you are often waiting weeks for your items to sell (with no guarantee that they will), weeks again for payment to clear, and then the buyer and seller will pay fees to the auction house for facilitating the sale.Even with this in mind - it is not unusual for our offers to exceed the estimates given by auction houses when customers come to us.However, there are also instances where advising you to auction your item is the right and fair thing to do - our experts never shy away from recommending other selling services. We have very good relationships with auction houses across the UK and are very happy to send business their way.
